Product Description
C Ashakiran 17 - Ember Steel Handpan
The Ashakiran scale on a handpan is a wonderfully versatile and emotive scale. The term "Ashakiran" translates as "ray of hope", and this is reflected in its sound, which is capable of conveying happy, light, melancholy and hopeful melodies.
The scale is structured as follows:
Upper notes: C3, F3, G3, A3, B3, C4, D4, E4, G4
Lower notes: D3, E3, F4, A4, B4, C5, D5, E5
The instrument needs around 14 to 18 weeks to be built.
Tonal characteristics:
The Ashakiran scale is known for its uplifting and harmonic qualities. It consists of a full major scale with additional lower notes that provide depth and a richer harmonic texture. This makes the instrument suitable for a wide range of musical expressions, from cheerful and bright pieces to more introspective and tranquil compositions. The inclusion of high and low notes allows for a dynamic playing style that can alternate between melodic lines and deep, resonant chords.
Compatibility with other instruments:
The Ashakiran scale is very versatile and combines well with various instruments. It harmonizes wonderfully with stringed instruments such as the guitar and violin, which can complement its melodic richness. Wind instruments such as the flute can enhance its airy and bright tones, while percussion instruments can add rhythmic complexity to compositions. In addition, other handpans, especially those in complementary scales such as D major or E major, can form a harmonic ensemble with the ashakiran.
Well-known songs and use
Although there are not many well-known songs that use the ashakiran scale, it is very popular with handpan players for improvisation and therapeutic music. Its ability to evoke a wide range of emotions makes it a popular instrument for live performances and ambient music recordings.
